FAQs

What do I need to bring?

We provide all gear and safety equipment we will need for the day. The sun is strong, I recommend bringing a hat, sunglasses, SPF, UPF clothing, etc. I will have a cooler filled with ice and water available, you will provide your own food/beverages. You do not need to worry about a fishing license, I have that covered.

Where do I meet?

My only goal is to put you on fish. Typically I launch from either Marco or Sanibel.  Tarpon are migratory fish, I will always suggest we meet at the launch based on the current school. This can be discussed 24-48 hours before your trip.

Is there a bathroom ?

No. I will provide TP.

How do I book a charter?

Best way to book is to call me (+1 612-210-3796) or email (bigfishwatersSWFL@gmail.com). You can contact me here as well.

What forms of payment do you accept? When do we pay? Do we tip?

Cash, Check, or Venmo. We accept Visa, American Express, Discover and Mastercard. Fee is due at the end of your trip. Tips are greatly appreciated, and commonly around 10-20%.

Is alcohol allowed on the boat?

Yes. I have power to return to launch if I feel someone’s safety is a concern.

Do you offer discounts?

10% discount for Military personnel, past and present.

10% discount for Olympic Athletes and University of Minnesota Alumni.

How many people can come on the boat? What if we have more than 4 people? Are there other people going on this charter?

3 people max for novices.

If your party is 4 or more, let’s connect. I have great relationships with other captains in the area and we can coordinate the day to accommodate larger party sizes.

There will be no other persons outside of your party. This is a private charter.

Can we keep our catch? Will you clean it for us?

Depends on the fish and time of year. We strictly adhere to US Fish and Wildlife Service guidlines. We will happily clean and bag your fillets if catch permits.

Is it possible to extend our Trip while we are on the water?

Yes, assuming there are no schedule conflicts. $100 per hour for each hour added.
